Truth

2 Tim 3:16-17 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  In a believers faith this is essential, but many Christians reject this.  When this is rejected inspiration and revelation from the Spirit is shut down and faith becomes something merely contained religious form. It has an outward appearance of religion but has no inward content.  Prov 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.  Vision means ongoing revelation.  For Christians that are serious about Jesus and desire to be transformed into His image and likeness the Bible is the absolute authority on all truth.

There is a simplicity of which Jesus demonstrated to us, a pattern of living which guides us to  becoming made in His image and likeness.  This is why all scripture must be received as God breathed, profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.  Jesus is the word manifest!(John 1:14) Our time in the word in reading, study and meditation brings forth the revelation of Jesus Christ causing continued spiritual growth.

Col 1:15-18 – He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16) For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  When we look at creation all things live and move and have life by its creator, Jesus Christ.  The life of all creation, except mankind, is naturally responsive to the DNA placed within each.  They have no volition to choose, they are what they are by His doing.  They live and exist to show us His wonder and all give glory to their creator.  In fact the creation was subject to futility because mankind has not come into being the creation that God made them to be.  Rom 8:19-21 – For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20) For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21) because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  The green movement and the animal rights advocates don’t realize it, but their part of the problem as well.  They have they right idea, but a very feeble application that is self inspired and self promoting.

God created mankind in this time span for one purpose. Heb 2:10 – For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.  However, it is a free choice of our own will to believe and receive. When a Christian is born again God places His seed within the new believer containing His DNA.  1 John 3:9 – No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.  The Greek word used for seed is “sperma” which is the same word used for the male sperm.  This seed carries the DNA of God.  As we spend time in the word of God, reading, studying and meditating upon it, inspiration proceeds by the Spirit to activate the God’s DNA within us.  The result is the natural activation of God’s nature proceeding out of us. Rom 2:14-15 – for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15) who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them.  The Greek word for nature means “native disposition”.  Like all creation it is by native disposition that they live out their life and purpose through the DNA the creator placed in them.  God created us to be one with Him eternal, immortal and incorruptible.

Being a Christian is not doing all the dos and not doing the don’ts, and then coming into condemnation, because it is impossible for our nature to do good.   It is not in us to do good.  Evil will always be attached to it, to bring some profit for itself.  Goodness is a product of Gods nature proceeding out of us as we are born again and obey two commandments given to us by Jesus.  Matt 22:37-40 – Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’   38) This is the first and great commandment.  39) And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’   40) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”  Rom 13:10 – Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.  In this the love of God compels us to good works through the Holy Spirit, who mortifies the deeds of our flesh.

The nature of all mankind resist holiness, because our nature is corrupt from sin and a self referential nature.  Holiness and in-corruption is the nature of perfect love.  Love does no evil for God is love.  Love is His very essence.  Scripture throughout the old and the new testaments clearly defines what sin is and all the actions there of.  God clearly defined what was evil and what was good in the Bible.  Today scripture is being revised to deemphasize certain sins to pander to people lives that have no desire to turn from their sin.  These  Christians are spurning God.  God’s nature and essence of love prescribes what is good and evil, mankind cannot change it.  They may will change the prescription for righteousness, but they will not change Gods  terms and conditions for eternal life.  His terms and conditions are non-negotiable.

Time and creation exist for one purpose and that is the fulfillment of God’s passion and love for His children to live eternally with Him. What will that be like?  2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  I am forever amazed at how insidious sin, joined with our self referential, is to choose to reject such an incredible gift from God, a life forever with Him, the creator of the universe.  We cannot even begin to imagine what that will be like.   What a tragedy to miss all this, because we wanted our way and on our terms.
