The Constraining Power of God’s Love

James 4:5 – Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? (The Greek word for “lusteth (ep-ee-poth-eh’-o)” and means, to yearn; to dote upon, intensely crave possession, (earnestly) desire (greatly), (greatly) long (after). Can we see the intensity of the Holy Spirits desire for every Christian to become fully the sons of God and to abide with Him eternally as one with Him in Christ. Can we also see that to neglect this without regard, trampling upon this intense love and desire He has for us, puts the Christian in great jeopardy of Blaspheme of the Holy Spirit! (This is a serious offense to God in grieving the Holy Spirit.)

We are constrained by the Holy Spirit, grace and the love of God to come into accord with God.  Jeremiah 20:9 – Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. (Has this happened to any of us? Of course it does, but it is due to His great love for us.) 1 Corinthians 9:16-17 – For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17) For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.  Necessity means constraint (literally or figuratively); by implication, distress, or must needs or needful. (Constraint means something that controls what you do by keeping you within particular limits.)

2 Cor 5:14-16 – For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15) And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16) Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. (This is so vital to everyone that calls themselves a Christian.) John 1:12 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Many say they believe, but where is the putting off of the old man and the putting on of the new man. James 2:19-20 – You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe — and tremble!

We are living in perilous times. If Paul suffered the loss of all who he discipled except for Timothy, all others seeking after there own! Even all in Asia had had turned away from Him. (2Tim 1:15) 2 Tim 3:1-5 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Also go 2Timothy 1:13 in reference to the end times again, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

John 14:26 – But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (The Holy Spirit/Ghost will teach us all things.) Many Christians are being led astray and leaving the church by deception and lies peddled by false teachers, being mentored by the devil himself, who comes only to steal, kill and destroy. 1 John 2:27 – But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. This anointing comes by way of the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things. Here’s what I have learned from this. If the preacher, pastor or teacher is confirming what the Spirit of God is teaching you from the word and truth their  teaching is confirming what you are hearing from the Spirit. These are of the truth, and if they aren’t they are preaching doctrines of demons, you get out of there, even if you have friends there, and find a church and a pastor that confirms what the Spirit of God is teaching you.
